Just a few minutes from Sempesserre, in the gently rolling countryside typical of the Gers region—where the roads become quieter and the landscapes more expansive— this carefully renovated stone house stands overlooking the horizon.
Here, life seems slower. The eye wanders across undulating fields, wooded groves, and the vast Gascon skies. The soundtrack is mostly birdsong, occasionally accompanied by the wind rustling through the trees. Whether from the garden or the vine-covered terrace, the prevailing feeling is one of complete tranquillity. This is a manageable, easy-to-live-in property that will appeal to those seeking a lifestyle rather than a large estate to maintain.
Recently renovated throughout, this former stone farmhouse now combines rustic charm with contemporary touches, creating a warm atmosphere with a genuine focus on comfort.
First Impressions
We arrive in front of a light stone façade, discreetly nestled within its green surroundings. Colourful touches in the garden, a welcoming terrace shaded by vines, and ever-present, far-reaching views create a gentle, almost Mediterranean atmosphere.

Inside the property
The house is full of surprises, and plays beautifully on contrasts between historic stonework, light-filled volumes, and contemporary design features. Nothing feels rigid or conventional; this is a home full of personality, thoughtfully designed for comfortable everyday living.
The entrance opens directly into a spacious, dual-aspect living room, warm and flooded with natural light. The eye is immediately drawn to the impressive ceiling height and the contemporary metal mezzanine overlooking the living area, adding both character and a wonderful sense of space. This versatile area is perfect as a reading nook, home office, relaxation space, or occasional guest accommodation.
A pellet-burning stove naturally becomes the heart of the home, promising cosy winter evenings.

The open-plan, recently installed kitchen, embraces a contemporary style while maintaining a harmonious balance between modern design and country-house character. The space is functional and sociable, allowing chefs to cook and entertain at the same time.
The kitchen flows directly into a light-filled room that provides the ideal setting for a dining area opening onto the terrace and surrounding landscape. Exposed stone walls and soft natural materials create a particularly calming atmosphere.

The house enjoys three bedrooms.
The first is spacious and bright, with lovely views to the outside and an elegant, restful atmosphere.
The second bedroom has a more contemporary feel and benefits from its own open-plan shower room, evoking the atmosphere of a boutique hotel with modern materials and a warm design aesthetic.
The third bedroom opens directly onto the terrace and could comfortably accommodate family or guests, or alternatively serve as a home office.
A charming bathroom with WC completes the accommodation.

The gardens
Outdoors, the charm is immediate.
The 1,526 m² plot has been thoughtfully landscaped to minimise maintenance while making the most of the magnificent views across the surrounding countryside. Every outdoor space seems designed to enjoy the setting: morning coffee in the sunshine, lunch beneath the vines, or an evening drink overlooking the rolling hills of Gers.
The shaded terrace naturally becomes an additional living space during the warmer months. The garden, dotted with rose bushes, mature trees, and shaded corners, feels intimate despite the expansive open views.
The absence of a swimming pool may be seen as an advantage for those seeking a low-maintenance property focused on peace, tranquillity, and outdoor living. However, the land would be perfectly suited to the addition of a pool, subject to the necessary planning permissions.

Our thoughts here at Bliss
At Bliss, we particularly appreciated the successful blend of old stone character and confident contemporary design. The mezzanine, the generous living space, and the quality of the views give this home a strong and distinctive personality.
Above all, we loved the sense of tranquillity—the rare feeling of being far removed from everything, while still remaining connected to everyday life.
What I would do if this property were mine
In truth, very little. The house already has a strong identity and has been recently renovated.
Perhaps I would simply enhance the outdoor spaces further with subtle lighting and a firepit area overlooking the landscape, creating the perfect setting to enjoy the long summer evenings of Gers.
Who would love this property?
This home will particularly appeal to:
A couple seeking a charming permanent residence;
Buyers looking for an elegant second home in Gers;
Those searching for absolute peace and uninterrupted countryside views;
Anyone wanting a character property without major renovation work.
It may be less suited to:
Buyers seeking a very large plot of land;
Larger families requiring additional bedrooms;
Those specifically looking for a swimming pool or extensive outbuildings;
Anyone wishing to walk to everyday shops and amenities.
