Introduction
Some properties immediately give the sense that something rare has been found.
A few minutes from Lectoure, in one of the rolling landscapes that make the Gers so deeply appealing, this elegant character property seems to have been placed facing the horizon to better contemplate the passing of time.
Entirely renovated to a remarkable standard, this country property of approximately 300 m² has everything one would expect from a high-end country home: the charm of a period residence, beautiful reception rooms, a warm atmosphere, five bedrooms, a guest house, a heated swimming pool and, above all, absolutely magnificent long-distance views over the Gers countryside.
We are in the immediate vicinity of Lectoure, one of the most sought-after villages in the Gers, renowned for its heritage, restaurants, thermal baths and art of living.
The arrival at the property immediately sets the tone: an elegant driveway, cypress trees reaching towards the sky, perfectly landscaped gardens opening onto a clear horizon that appears framed by the surrounding scenery.
Here, calm reigns supreme, punctuated by birdsong, the wind in the trees and that distinctive light of the Gers which transforms the hills into a living tableau. One can already imagine long summer evenings on the terrace, meals shared with friends and sunsets stretching across the valleys.

The main house
We enter a home that instantly feels welcoming and reassuring.
Nothing appears ostentatious. Everything seems to have been designed with taste, achieving a particularly successful balance between authentic Gascon character and contemporary comfort.
The materials are noble, the proportions harmonious and the volumes generous without ever feeling excessive. The house immediately inspires the idea of a happy, comfortable place to live, equally suited to large gatherings and intimate moments.
The prevailing feeling? A house where you can simply put down your suitcases and begin living.

The ground floor
The entrance opens onto beautiful reception rooms bathed in natural light, where terracotta floors converse harmoniously with period fireplaces.
The kitchen, particularly impressive, deserves special mention. Spacious and perfectly equipped, it resembles a true living space. Organised around a large central island in stone, its level of finish is remarkable, blending refined country-house style with contemporary functionality.

A large dining room follows the kitchen.
One can easily imagine long family meals or dinners with friends in an atmosphere that is both elegant and convivial.

A stylish bar area adds a particularly appealing entertaining dimension to the house, perfect for extending evenings with guests.

The large sitting room immediately impresses with its ceiling height and monumental stone fireplace. Light flows generously through the space, enhancing the elegant proportions and sense of volume.
Beyond it lies one of the most attractive rooms in the house: a superb glass conservatory opening onto the pool and gardens. A true summer living room, it creates a seamless connection between indoors and outdoors and naturally becomes the heart of the home during both the warmer and cooler months.

On this level, the principal suite also deserves special attention. Positioned privately, it enjoys beautiful volumes, a peaceful atmosphere and lovely views over the gardens and surrounding countryside. A contemporary bathroom with clean, elegant lines and a generous dressing room complete the space.

The first floor
Upstairs, the house offers four comfortable bedrooms, each with its own character and private bathroom.
They retain all the charm of the main house: exposed beams, a cosy atmosphere, pleasing proportions and views over the gardens or the rolling hills of the Gers.
Together, they provide excellent accommodation capacity, ideal for a large family or a home that regularly welcomes guests.

The grounds
The approximately 3-hectare grounds contribute fully to the property’s appeal.
The beautifully structured gardens evoke, in places, an almost Tuscan softness: slender cypress trees, sculpted hedges, sun-drenched terraces and numerous areas designed for relaxing and enjoying the scenery.
The heated swimming pool occupies a central position, surrounded by expansive terraces ideal for long summer days. From here, the eye naturally wanders across the Gers valleys.
A guest house allows family and friends to be accommodated independently and comfortably — a real asset for those who enjoy entertaining.
Everywhere, the views become an architectural feature in their own right. From the terraces as much as from the principal rooms of the house, the landscape seems to stretch endlessly into the distance, creating a rare feeling of space and freedom.

Our thoughts here at Bliss
At Bliss, we were immediately won over by the overall quality of this property.
The views are superb, the specifications exceptional and, above all, the property possesses that rare coherence that instantly makes you want to move in.
This is an elegant house, yet never pretentious. A substantial family home that is warm, comfortable and perfectly maintained, ready to enjoy.
We were particularly drawn to the conservatory overlooking the pool, the reception spaces, the quality of the renovation and the sensation of being suspended above the landscape.
What would I do if this property were mine?
In all honesty, not very much.
I would probably add a few large armchairs on the terraces to enjoy the views at different times of day, and perhaps restore the vegetable patch to complete the setting and add another layer of charm.
The house itself seems already to have found its perfect balance.
Who is this property best suited to?
This house will particularly appeal to buyers seeking a primary or secondary residence of distinction in the Gers, international clients sensitive to the quality of the renovation, or those who enjoy entertaining in an elegant yet understated setting.
It will also be perfectly suited to anyone looking for a comfortable country home with genuine capacity to host family and friends.
Who might this property not suit?
This property may be less suited to buyers seeking an ultra-contemporary style or a small, low-maintenance garden.
It is also not the ideal choice for those wishing to live within walking distance of shops, although Lectoure remains very close by.
