Beautiful Gascon Farm House1 ha of Land, Pool and Traquillity
A little corner of paradise in the Gers countryside
Descending the long driveway, you can only wonder at the sparkling jewel you will find beyond the trees guarding the entrance to the property. You will be delighted by the pretty renovated gascon house which greets you as you follow the circular driveway around. The house sits in the middle of its 1ha grounds, facing the pretty village that it belongs to. Although in the middle of the peaceful countryside, with no-one overlooking you, the views reassure you that you are not alone in the world.

While outside embraces the wonderful Gers countryside, the inside has been renovated to allow a modern way of living within old walls. The renovation has been done with taste and good quality materials, and really enhances the original stone walls and floors.
The typical hallway traversing the house, from east to west, is used as a long dining area when the owners invite the surrounding villagers for a winter supper of canard washed down with lashings of local rouge, other colours are available of course!!
Off to the left is the beautifully proportioned living room with a fully fitted kitchen/diner at one end over looking the seating area around the fireplace. The room is light and airy, facing east, south and west, so the sun shines in all through the day. The kitchen leads straight out to the west terrace which in turn leads to the tempting swimming pool, but let’s be tempted for a while longer as we continue through the house.
On the opposite side of the hallway, there is a large master suite with its own bath/shower room. The quality of the work and materials are in evidence everywhere we look, and the owner’s touches give some added ‘je ne sais quoi’ to the walls. The pool can be seen through the French doors, still trying to tempt us outside, but we resist!
There is another bedroom on the ground floor, double aspected too, such a lovely way to wake up to the early morning sun. This bedroom has an ensuite shower room with WC, perfect for guests. This floor is completed by a separate vestibule with WC and hand basin.
A thoroughly modern staircase leads up and down from the living room.
Up it goes to a third bedroom and bathroom built in to the eaves of the house. The little princess of the family has turned this in to a dormitory style room with a TV area especially for those sleepovers and midnight feasts that make everything alright with the world.
Going down the staircase leads us in to the bowels of the house where, as you would expect, the utility/boiler room is hiding. It is here, on the rez de jardin that we are treated to another bedroom and shower room. Currently being used as a games and film room, the large, arched French doors look out across the fields to the village beyond.
Now we can wander around the grounds where there are several different terraces, some leafy, shaded and some wide open areas, depending on the weather and the season, from which to enjoy the views and the tranquility, such a delightful choice. The pool is, of course, on the west side of the property, an enticing place to watch the setting sun.
Our thoughts here at Bliss!
We love the mainly single storey living, the peace and quiet, the proximity to Toulouse airport, and did I mention the views??
What would I do if this property were mine?
Build a garage or carport, otherwise nothing
To whom would this property appeal?
This would work as both a family home and a holiday home as proved by the current owners who have used it as both.
