Just ten minutes south of Lannemezan, in a discreet village, an old barn has been transformed into an exceptional loft, blending the warmth of larch wood, the sturdiness of stone, and the modernity of steel.
A place that is both raw and refined, featuring a swimming pool and an independent cottage nestled in the garden.
The majestic Pic du Midi stands as a breathtaking backdrop.

Exterior
The facade, combining stone and larch, exudes a certain nobility, enhanced by generous windows. This is a contemporary chalet, free of ostentation.
The garden, meanwhile, is a haven of peace. It features a perfectly integrated (heated) swimming pool, a wooden terrace, majestic trees, and an unobstructed view of the snow-capped mountains.
The cottage, set slightly apart, ensures privacy for its occupants.

Ground floor
A grand entrance with a sculptural black steel staircase leads to three generously sized bedrooms, a bathroom and separate toilet, as well as the boiler room and laundry area.
The two bedrooms overlooking the pool invite you to enjoy the gentle warmth of sunny mornings, while the third, with its own en-suite bathroom, offers a view of the garden.
The bathroom combines both retro and contemporary styles. The doors and sanitary fittings were salvaged from an old hotel in Lourdes, a detail that speaks volumes about the history of the place.

The first floor
This is where daily life truly takes place for the current owners, in a vast open-plan space where every corner has been thoughtfully designed.
The stairs lead to a large landing, where a first living area sits beneath the mezzanine. Further on, the open-plan kitchen and dining area face a breathtaking panorama. The room is peppered with charming detail, also thrifted from the same historic hotel from the 1930s.
Light floods the space through large windows, revealing an architecture designed for living. The owner, a renowned international chef, designed a kitchen meant for grand gatherings.
A particular highlight is the walk-in refrigerator worthy of the finest restaurants.

The living room is a warm cocoon, adorned with gray-washed wood.
The “Bruno” wood stove, a true center-piece, radiates an irresistible and efficient warmth throughout the space.
Additionally, a covered terrace extends the living spaces outdoors, whether enjoying a summer dinner or an aperitif in the shade.

The second floor
Beneath the exposed beams, a mezzanine hosts a guest bedroom with an unparalleled view of the Pyrénées, framed by an imposing oeil-de-boeuf window. This space could easily be enclosed to provide additional privacy (subject to necessary approvals).

The cottage
Set apart from the main house, this is the ultimate private retreat! Spanning 18m², with cozy wood-paneled walls, it offers a warm and comfortable little cocoon. From the bed, the mountains can be admired through the large bay window, which opens onto a private terrace.
All that remains is to install a shower and toilet (subject to necessary approvals).
