North of St Clar heading towards Beaumont de Lomagne where the countryside opens out to offer vast views of its hills and valleys.
Dark patches of emerald woodland are dotted on the horizon.

It is not unusual to see birds of prey on the telegraph wires; deer, and of course those vast and magnificent skies which enabled the « Ferme des Étoiles » to set up not far away in Mauroux as an observatory to the stars.

This property is set in an elevated position along a tranquil lane populated mainly by the farmer on his tractor. It benefits however from views on all sides in the widest sense of the term. A constantly changing tableau of the seasons from the window of the main reception room and bedroom.

The property has a much loved and tidy appearance from the outside which is confirmed on our visit inside the house itself.

The Entrance Hall

The double-glazed wooden door has a glass panel which allows the views and the light inside.

We enter a neat hallway which leads to two downstairs bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower room and a separate WC at the far end.

The floor is covered with white stone effect tiles and the walls are white – enhancing a sense of brightness with the light from the halls southerly aspect. There are fitted cupboards for storage.

Bedroom One

The first bedroom has an original floor and faces south with beautiful views across the countryside. The room has a large storage cupboard at the rear beneath the stairs. The room is in pristine condition with white walls and a cream carpet. The original beams traverse the ceiling.

Situated next to the first, in the main entrance hall, this double room has a westerly aspect over the valley.

The Shower Room

The shower room was recently converted from being a bathroom with a tub – so it is possible to put this back for bath lovers. If not you can enjoy the spacious walk-in shower. The WC is separate.

There are two spacious reception rooms both with wood burning stoves. One is used as a dining-room and the other a sitting room but both coud have either usage and are beautiful elegant rooms which are well decorated and homely.

The sitting room faces full south and has incredible views. The dining room has a north easterly aspect.

The kitchen has a range of top and bottom units and a central island. It faces East and opens out onto the lovely enclosed terrace which is a lovely spot for a morning coffee.

Things I would do if the property were mine...

The property is in perfect condition. It is difficult to find anything which « needs » doing. The carpets are immaculate but white. Perhaps if I were take a crew of animals and children I might consider wooden flooring. It is evident from the moment we arrive that this property has been loved and cared for down to the last centimetre.

One might of course want to add main central heating with a heat pump if working and coming home too late to light the fires or to keep them burning throughout the day.
